the fees alone are worth it, been quoted anything from 800 to 2k! seems to be the lowest rate aswell.

What are people doing with mortgages at the min? fix? for how long?

Heard the base rate will probs be going up next week (the BOE meet on the wed & thurs after the first monday of the month - confusing!), so ideally i need to get something sorted before then!

I got (back in June 09) a fixed rate of 4.69 for 75% LTV. 5 Years. With £250 fees but got £200 back after 30 days of 1st repayment. However as said things have gone up and that was at the lowest point of the market downturn. Your rate for 60% LTV would have been even cheaper at that time but seems good for now. I'd snap that up tbh.

believe it or not, the flat we are moving from has some bigger rooms!

Allan, seems like fees have shot up since the base rate has been down. Its either low % and 1k fees, or high % and 500quid fees.

Tbh, i would only move from north east if i was going to the lakes. Dont care what people say, i work all over the country and nowhere is as good.

Just rang them to sort it out, and they are ringing me back for a 40min chat.

On tuesday.

I was like, i'm talking to you now, can't we go through it now? No, sorry, we are too busy.

Dammit there will be hell to pay if they ring up tues and offer a 9% deal with 2k fees

Northernness rawks btw.

£499 a month, and even if after the 5 year fix the best deal we can get is 12% it will be £926 a month. pretty humped if it goes much higher than that though!

Howay Allan, get your skates on!

Cant wait to get the keys, then 80% of the stress will be gone!

I hate the fact nothing is set in concrete til its move day, madness.

Lad at work was saying his seller pulled out 2 days before move date because he got back with his partner after splitting up.

Should be something in place to stop this tbh, once you've split, you should never go back.

That would be awsome, a law to stop you ruining your life by going back to a broken relationship.

Oh, wait, you mean the house thing? that would also be good.

That's because Scotlands system is actually decent. The house is surveyed before it goes OTM by the seller and i think once a sale is actually agreed you have to have a very good reason to pull out.
