Vxr turbos on vxr's seem to be fine, I THINK it's something to do with the zlet Gsi engines running higher oil pressure and blowing the seals of vxr turbos.

haha i do like the astra my sisters fellas got one but there just not for me tbf i prefer the smaller hatchbacks and a good excuse not to have everyone pile in haha although they are pretty roomy for a smaller car..

If you have the money I would go for the VXR tbh

Although i much prefer the GSI myself and i think its all how you treat your turbo when your talking about reliability. I'm running a standard turbo and running slightly higher boost and having no problems what so ever

Go for the Astra VXR you know it makes sense, and the extra length makes it that bit comfier on long runs/crap roads.

I personally think the astra VXR is a bit more grown up than the corsa. Looks better as well

Having done 55,000 miles +, I think your reading too many other peoples storeis who rag them from cold etc... Turbos are absolutly fine.

Gearboxes though, Made of chocolate and bearings are sh1te. Not a cheap job.

Still, loved the VXR, wouldn't even consider a GSi.
