I'm looking for something a bit more advanced than windows movie maker

We normally have 3 cameras on the car so I'd like something that can incorporate multiple videos (in car, with rear view in corner for example). I'd also liek some basics like slow motion etc.

I'm DL'ing Adobe After Effects just now but it's taking forever

I think Adobe Premier & After effects are the main ones that people use tbh. Probably worth the wait. Where are you downloading it? You can get a trial off the adobe website and crack it, might be quicker than wherever.

A bit shite quality for the incar but its been exported about 3 time before importing into vegas (dont have the raw out here

After Effects is mainly for SFX/Composition work rather than editing. Adobe Premiere is Adobe's editing package.
But it looks pretty decent, obviously edit the raw footage where ever you can and if you're going to pass it between software then export it uncompressed or use a lossless (compression) codec like lagarith.
By the way, is the rear camera fish eye'd?

the rear camera is a wide angle lens... Go Pro wide

I know about using raw files where possible but the above is only a wee test, I dont have any of the raw files here.
