Now it's got the anthercite wheels and rear spoiler with a lip and the red brake light but how can i tell if it has the cup pack's or not?

Cup packs are bigger rear spoiler and front splitter and anthracite wheels indicate the cup suspension.
Just make sure its had the belts changed as they are an expensive job

sounds like it has both cup packs but it will need belts if it's 5 years old.

the cup version doesnt have air con as well. and the auxilary belt for the non cup costs a lot more because of the tensioner for the air con. best getting the belts done as well.

Mines on 100k and never broken down, bought it with 20k on the clock.
The steering wheel will melt, rear shocks will leak and altinator will squeak in the rain. You might get a few issues with the electrics but they are cheap to replace.
Awsome cars IMO, love thrashing mine through the lanes.
Also people who know nothing will tell you to take it to a specialist to get the belts changed, this is utter bullshit. Any decent garage will be able to change them and will charge much less
Get some pics up

172 cup is the proper cup ie no leather or a/c.
182 cup is a normal 182 (with a/c and leather) just with the cup packs

i havent been on cliosport long but ive seen more than enough 'belt' threads which normally lead to the owner the car to a back street garage because of the price and then a week later its went tits up. tbh i took mine to a specialist for peace of mind as one of the guys has done many of them in the past for members on that site. id rather pay that little extra.

It's a car not a space ship. Other cars have belts too. The Internet is full of bullshit
Any decent garage will be able to do it.

Its not. A 182 Cup has no leather, and maybe not even aircon, my mate used to have one! Its a 1.2 Clio inside

U can get a 182 cup with no mod cons, or you can get a 182 with cup suspension and cup styling packs, they refer to i on cliosport as a 'full fat'.

ive seen numerous threads on here from people asking what they should look for in certain cars they like or are going to view. hondas, seats, pugs etc etc but when it comes to clio sports why does everyone mention belts.
the net is full of shite but the minute you get a car related problem you know nothing about whats the first thing you do? post it up asking for advice

Because people never maintain cars properly abs a £500 bill is enough to scare people to death well at least that's my guess anyway. I mean my three where £400 in total I didn't panic and take it to a specialist to change my gyres I went down the road and life carries on as normal
Mines had belts done as it was part of the deal with the dealer I got it off which was great as I didn't have to worry but I wasn't put off looking at one who didn't have he belts done
It's just like M3s the amount of people who well them when the insp2 is due is crazy.

its also in the service book to have one changed at 36k and both 72k with normal ones every 12k iirc or every 5 years, so to maintain a car with these requirements then obviously you will be looking to pay a lot for the major services. you can pick up a 55 plate clio with less than 30k but thats still 5 years. mine came with only 33k, fsh but no belts but i didnt panic but the dealer knocked a good bit off towards it. i took everyones advice because worst case scenario would be a new engine if one did snap. massive bill and more than likely back to square one with the belts, lol.

I no exactly what you all mean when you search some think like the belts you do get all the horror storys ect come up although i am going to try and find one that has had them done for peice of mind
How ever now a new dilema would you buy a low millage standard car full service history ect or a moddified one its fully stripped, buckets, harness's, coilys ect every think i'd probably do but not the colour i want how ever there both the same price so standard and do your self or buy all ready done and compromise certain bits?
