the conversion pipe is to big going to the scrap yard tomorrow to see if I can find some bit of exhust

What I did was use my crimper to squash it to a smaller outside diameter, if you can take the link pipe, and the middle section, into a place that makes hydraulic hoses local, they will be able to do it.
