Looking at something like this

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201028363707833/sort/pricedesc/usedcars/fuel-type/diesel/price-from/2000/price-to/4000/model/x-type/make/jaguar/postcode/le182qx/page/1/radius/200?logcode=p

Has everything , sat nav, leather etc..

4k, thats a bargain surely?

Will be good on fuel, has room (need it week in week out for football journeys)

Thoughts?

I'm driving my Dad's 2006 X Type 2.0D at the moment and its surprisingly good. Very comfortable, has plenty of pull through the gears. Doesnt feel as big as it is. Good on fuel. Nice interior. Overall a good car IMO.

This is true too. I'm 26 and do feel a bit odd driving it sometimes. Still, if you look past that it's a good motor.

They are alot of car for the money, i'd have one now as long as the chrome bits on them are painted the same colour as the car (otherwise they look very old man) and i'm 27.

I have a 2.0D X Type; I feel like an old man but its so comfy and the spec is great for the price you pay.

This is mine:

I've got a diesel tuning box on mine, can't remember the figures; but I'm returning 55-60mpg and have plenty of torque for overtaking and motorway use and as I said, its so comfy; like driving an armchair

I would actually love driving around in something like that, black paint, dark windows, some nice OEM Jag Wheels and drop it

I'm thinking of changing mine to sprot spec; painting all the chrome (wondow surrounds, bumper trims, boot strip) body coloured, repalce the grill with a later spec mesh sport grill and maybe put the front and rear lip spoilers on; shouldn't cost much to do and makes it look less grandadish.

There's a massive part of me that would love to go mentally smooth though; smooth the swage lines, bumper trims, door handles and slam it. Super smooth and slammed could look amazing

was looking to buy one of these a little while ago, i think they look great colour coded and with the later grill on, wouldnt be bothered about the old man image with the amount of toys and comfort they have

Theres something kind of stealth car but not about them.

Basically although they were meant to be the young person's Jag, they only really attracted old fuckers who ordered them as their last company car so they could buy it cheap and take it in to retirement. So they're nearly always found plodding along holding everyone up at 60mph in the outside lane in my experience.

But that kind of makes them appealing. Its like driving a Volvo or a Saab, the Police will just never give you a second glance cause they're just not that type of persons car.

Does that make sense?!

But yeah, has the be black and de-chromed.
