the control unit under the glove box has gone loopy

the top mounts fucked

the stupid priced brakes

it will leak water and create a puddle under the rear seats

the headlight washers will leak so you come back to a car that looks like its been crying

the cambelt will need doing, and someone on cliosport will tell you it will cost you a million pounds to do and can only ever be done by 3 people in the country

Exhaust will be falling off aswell and subsequently knocking. Lower engine mount as well is likely.

mine did 14,000 hard miles including 6 track days and didn't miss a beat, didn't rattle, didn't leak anywhere and didn't knock at all.

Same mate, maintained well and did the same amount of miles about 4 track days, again it got driven hard most places and never missed a beat.

That clio is most likely to have had the belts done as there due at 30k and 60k i believe but obviously you'd want proof. Even then Angel works (search google) did a full service, Plugs, oil and filter, belts and tensioner for 480 quid and there very highly regarded

You to need the renault locking tool to do it which can only be bought from Renault so that's the main reason people say that

To be fair, that's not rediculously cheap, maybe a little but not too bad.

Rob, are you sure?

You could say the same about any car though, it's easier with the tool but it's never impossible without

We did the cambelt without said tool. Bit of tippex marking it up, hey presto

My mates 172 has been nothing but agro, it eats wheel bearings, driveshaft went, then CV boot collapsed, then it wouldn't start, then the clutch release bearing went, now it will start but won't go above 5k, ordered a coilpack in the hope that's the problem. I think he bought it cheap for £2300 on a 52 plate with 68k miles, spent about £1500 on repairs etc. It's like a brand new car, but it still keeps breaking.

However when it works, what an awesome car!
