My mate just brought a very nice 2l turbo (unsure of model of engine) just has an sti kit on it. Until he told me I didn't realise it was insured as a 2l non turbo. How common is this? Kinda redtop into corsa b common? Or was his more of a one off

He bought it off my mates dad. Who could have brought it over from japan. Who knows where it was origionally bought from

if its an import it may just have been registered wrong, my mates got an sti but its got gl on the logbook

I've seen this before, was something to do with the way it was imported, car was stolen and he got paid out for whatever lesser model it was insured as

My old Pulsar was like that.

Was imported from Japan(long before i got it) and was registered as a Nissan Sunny Gti-R.

Yep you'll find all import classic scoobys are classed as normal 2L

Well the 3 i've had were anyway

There was no UK equivilent model when the earlier ones were imported so on the Log book they were normally 1.8 or 2.0 GL's..

You can write to the DVLA with the model/trim codes and they will change it..

What models where they? I have had a look on eBay and there are a few completly un registered. So could you buy them and register it as say a 1.8gl?

Note I am not planning on doing a Doyle like this. I am just very surprised it's so easy
