was putting my son to bed last night, and i put him in his bed and thought i would have a lay down on my bed in the other room. i heard a women scream from down the road saying "youve f*cking kill him, youve killed earl"
now earl is my cat, 4 year old grey cat. i looked out the window and saw a sliver golf and went stright out.
the floor were he has laying was covered in blood, and the women had picked him up and took him round the back to my house. i went round to back of my house to see this women covered in blood. it was like she had been shot! and my cat in her arms. his head was a mess, his tail was moving as i strokeing him. he passed away in her arms and i got a pillow case to put him in.i hope he was not in to much pain!
i cant get the image of his tail moving as he passed on or his head like that. the women covered in blood either! a few hours before we use to have a cat bowl outside the back for him, it was covered in mess so i put it in the bin as we have another one for him indoors....that also runs through my mind!
i had to go and clean up his blood from the road which you can still see out the bedroom window.
ive found out who the lad is. he often vists the lads up the road for me. there all go tear arseing along the road at silly speeds!
my 2 year old son can now open doors and well its not worth about.
my g/f is also upset by this as our last cat was also killed by a car

Sorry about the cat.
But can you not lock the external doors and take the key out if you have a fear of your son opening the door and running out in front of a car?

This is the problem with cats at least a dog stays on a lead. I get pissed off with people speeding through housing estates as well, there is no need for the sheer amount of risk I know young lads will do it, its the more mature drivers in their 50s with their massive cars thhat annoy me even more as they should know better

Around my area the young drivers get slated! I know I always drive like a saint. It's men in BMW estates or x5's. Usually wearing pink shirts and baby blur jumpers

Do you know for a fact the lad was speeding?
Harsh, but animal do wander out into the road at short notice. My mate clipped a dog which ran out across the road as it was going back to its owner. Shattered its hip and shook my mate up something proper. Dog was fine (after a major operation mind).
Nothing he could have done about it though.

As said, cats are a nightmare for running out on you, I hit one doing about 35 down a road a few years ago, it ran out from behind a bus stop, no way I could have stopped. I went back and it had gone, not sure if I stunned it or someone had moved it.

Sorry about the cat, but as said, they do this.
You can not, in any way, blame the driver. You cant prove he was speeding, the police wont turn up, measure skid marks etc as it was a cat, yes it was your cat.

I know how you feel mate I had to carry my cat back from where a lorry driver found him
I think it was probably that guy who killed my cat, but I obviously cant prove it (why would he stop to take his collar off and phone me if it wasnt him?) but at least he was decent and moved him off the road and phoned to let us know

I had a cat that was run over, well it was more a kitten. Neighbour knocked on the door and asked if that was our cat in the road. I had to go and pick it up - never forget the state it was in.
I hit a deer once. Down a dark country road it jumped out of nowhere. Luckily I braked hard and it only bounced of my bumper. It was stunned for a bit but then seemed ok,. Something as small as cat running out has no chance of being seen.
