Need a genuine ford driverss side lower arm as one of the ones i got powdercoated wasnt a genuine arm and hence the bushes arent a tight snug fit.

so i go on that breaker link and put that I want a Genuine Ford Puma Lower arm, even added how to tell its a genuine one based on markings etc.

So i get a text through from Ford-Peugeot spares saying they have one. I ring them up and he said they have a used genuine ford arm, so i agreed to have it sent to me for 16 quid all in, I stressed near the end of the phone call that it must be a genuine ford arm and he said it would be.

So it turns up on friday, open it up and what do i find? a brand new, sealed in polythene, non genuine ford arm its not even close! It even says on the invoice USED FORD LOWER ARM.

What is wrong with people?

I rang them straight back up and they said they will get a used genuine one sent out this morning, but i know full well it wont and i will need to chase, going to ring them up at 2 today to see if its been sent, I will update this as to wether my predictions were correct

the pattern parts are useless, the bush moutning holes are different sizes meaning the oem ford bushes are loose in them so you cant press them in

i dont want to use there own bushes, not sure if you missed my other thread but the reason im doing it is so i can build up a set of lower arms that will never need replacing.

iv drilled out the rivets on the ball joints so i can replace them with bolt on ones, and polyflexing the rest of the bushes, then when something goes i can just replace the bush or balljoint without having to buy a complete new lower arm

the ford FRP one is a lot better then even the normal ford one, and definatly a lot better then any pattern part one, people are replacing the pattern parts after 12 months, ford ones last for years

To be honest it would seem less agro to just replace them every 12 months or so than go through all this crap.

if i can build up a set of lower arms that will never need replacing, and where i can replace bits with better bits for less money, which will also work better when i take it on track, then i dont see the big deal to be honest

i think people are just arguing for the sake of it
