Just took a random week off work week after next and fancy taking a trip to berlin for a few nights on my own want to go and visit a concentration camp for the day and bit of shopping, any one been and has any one used hostels what they like? £42 for 4 nights for a room its a 1* hostel do i just get a normal hotel or are they ok? All new just dead basic its b&b , also any one recommend any places to go and visit camps sights ect?

I Don't get why anyone would want to Wakl round a concentration camp like it's an attraction

Because its of intrest to me it's not an attraction no but its some were i'v always wanted to go to

Cheers buddy information i was actually after, iv found one were you can get a full tour and allowed into all building ect quite a moving tour from blogs iv read from people who have been

I was in Berlin a few weeks ago. Didnt see much war stuff though I was there for the beer

Ive stayed in hostels all over europe before. Perfectly fine. Just try to make sure its one of the official HIHostel ones. Others could be a bit dodgy. Also dont leave anything of value in your room etcetc but unlike hotels there are no room cleaners to go in pinching your stuff.

Berlin is a brilliant city! Was there last year. Got to stand on top of the Reichstag to watch the fall of the wall 20yr celebrations!
Clothes shopping there is excellent as are all the pubs! Can't recommend 'White Trash' bar enough!
We stayed in the Raddison which has a huge glass fish bowl in the lobby! Google it too see what i mean!

I went to one near berlin when i went a few years ago. They had built a tourist centre on the site, and other construction work was going on, killed the idea for me
