Seen this a fair bit lately on bog standard cars, 106's, saxos, corsas + others.

Not sure what the deal is here? i understand on some cars, the fact it looks crap is offset with benefits of heat dissipation.

Why would you have it on a standard car though

A few lads used to have it around my way.Looked cool back in the day on like rs turbo's and that but surely if you crash its making the bonnet brackets weaker meaning more chance of it coming through your windowwscreen and taking your head off....

The way I see it is this. If you have carbs or TB's or something then fair enough, it's functional. If it's a standard shed then it doesn't make you as cool as you think it does.
