i've given up trying to understand that film. i think it's great but there is too much after thought involved. i spent ages reading up on it and i still have loads of questions. if the writers/ directors couldn't be arsed to tell us what was really going on in the actual film then balls to it.
oh and the sequel: wtf?

Which would win in a most confusing film competition?
Donnie Darko or Inception?

I think it makes total sense after a few viewings.
The sequel is by differant people and I wouldn't bother connecting the two!

it is slighty retarded tho writing a 10,000 word essay to show why D.D is one of the greatest films ever made.
people are always going to have a different opinon of things.

I didn't really find Inception all that confusing to be honest but Donnie Darko just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

Like most Guy Richie films (Bar Sherlock Holmes, I enjoyed that!) he tries to be differant and just ends up being a cheap rip off of Tarrantino.

I'll give you Revolver, I think Guy Richie thought himself really clever with the script and in the end just confused everyone including himself

so no one else is allowed to do a multi-layered story now coz Tarantino has already done it?
rock n rolla, snatch and lock stock are quality films imo

Not at all, by all means do your own spin on a film idea. I'm just saying he made a hash of it.
I liked Lock Stock & Snatch. Revolver and Rock 'N' Rolla on the other hand I thought tried too hard.

As a non-film geek any recommendations for good films?
Never used to watch them but my dodgy Virgin box is gubbed so I've taken to films now. Watched; V for Vendetta, The Departed, Toy Story 3, Inception, Ghost Writer, Hot Tub Time Machine and Grown Ups in the past 2 weeks

What type of film are you wanting to see? I could recommend loads, it all depends what you are in to.
