Is it just the earlier engines up to 2006 that have the problems and 2007 onward they are ok?

I killed an F23 and an F25.
My M32 is fine.
Every gear box will have failures. Just some you read about more on the internet.

The gear box faults that everyone talks about on the internet is the only thing putting me off the 1.9 cdti.
Is the fly wheel a big & exspensive job?

as i said in another thread, if its that big a worry then take out an extended warranty or keep money aside for something going wrong, i wouldnt let something that might never happen put me off an other wise good car

A duel flywheel will cost you over £500 on it's own. They are £250 on eurocar parts but I've been told they shit quality

When it costs over a grand to fix it's a big deal. Alot of guys on here don't expect to spend that kind of money on a gearbox rebuild after only 35k miles

Agree with eck, its obviously a week point and is worth worrying about. Vauxhall have taken 2 weeks to authorise mine to be changed even though I'm still in warranty. Box is ordered and will be fitted straight away but still not great on a 20k mile car.

Thats pretty decent of them, takes a bit of the worry away till you sell it.
I'm paying for a clutch in mine which is the only catch. Vauxhall wont replace it as part of the warranty claim.

I thought so to, they were putting up a bit of an argument about it at first.
Its because the clutch is a wear and tear item I think.

1k for a gear box
This is the reason why i was considering the 1.8 vvt 140 instead of the diesel.
