Been off the road with a fubar'd engine since april, get it back on the road just in time for no shows & crap weather.
Huzzah.
Tax at end of month methinks
Gave it a wash, polish & wax, took it for MOT, passed, parked it outside, rained for 10mins, took it inside, stopped raining
Can't wait to get out & use the bloody annoying thing now. New engine has been fitted & it runs soooooo much nicer than the old one, good times.

I was amazed how good this car looks in person.
Had a quick look when I collected the clutch.

No mate i have glass in there now, couldnt get the panel to sit right so i sold it on to someone who is using it for various dash bits.
Wish i'd done this sooner tbh!

It seemed like such a good idea at the time, sorry mate
Its just too rigid to take the slight curve in the roof.
Mark, yeh, same car, one of its transformations.

I tried for ages, i used some stuff which was amazing, had sand bags on the roof for a week, took them off & it was a bit rippley, then 2mins later it pinged off.
Was a right bugger as its killed the paint on the roof, wish i hadnt bothered!!
Standard sunroof cut down a fair bit & a bit of sealant around the rim = sorted & looks loads better.

Was up for sale, bottom end went, wrecked crank.
Sat in garage since march or something, was breaking it, then sourced local engine & just fitted it.
drives loads better now, actually enjoy driving it!
I did like the white wheels, but the brake dust is a complete pita!
Just chuffed it went through the mot with no issues (that said, its only done 313 miles in a year )
Tax at end of month then drive it round a bit.

You need to get the belts round the bar and not to the floor of the car ! be alot better.

I did toy with the idea, but i thought the original seatbelt mounts would be stronger than the bar?
Dont want to compromise safety for looks.

taking the belts to the floor will compress the seat in a crash and crush your back.
and they are angled to the center so that would twist the seat in a crash.
Not that i think you will have a crash like

Ah crap, didnt think about it like that!
So bar is best? thought that would just bend / snap in a crash?

Carbon vinyl the glass maybe
Looks so nice though, has come together well.
High gloss black the rear would
Ps on road side without tax, tut tut. you should know by now only polish people are allowed to do that.

Also can you not weld a bar between the b pillars for the seat belts or even the rear suspension turrets (may not be high enough though)

Aye just went for the satin black paint, was just a quick once over, i may take the seats out & redo it as its looking pretty tired after having parts dumped in there.
Thats outside the mot station, had to put it on the curb as the next car was due in & i was waiting for cert to be printed
Could weld a bar in, but not sure on strength needed, will look into it. Perhaps weld a bar into the cage but harness would be very short then.
