My girlfriend has just come across this on the net..

i was on the look out for a new job because the pay is very low (even though i like it, but that doesnt pay the bills) but if this is true then i will be staying there

not much of an increase for the younger people, but will be the 22.8% increase for me, £1 an hour pay rise...

I've always thought why do you have to be 23 to get the highest minium wage but now its 21 which is a bit more sensible.

So you have now changed your mind about getting a new job because minimum wage is going up by 13p an hour......
If you do a 40 hour week that works out at £5.20, less tax per week.

This is exactly why they shouldn't raise the minimum wage, some people obviously have no ambition to go and do better.
If it doesn't pay the bills currently and extra fiver a week won't either.

Nope no luck. Only had two interviews in the almost year of being unemployed. not to say i havent tried. burnt up all my savings now too so bills are starting to get... neglected >.< soon tho my luck will turn soon
