Why do people go crazy over the word "digital"??
e.g. Ive just been flicking through the new Tesco Direct book (as you do) and spotted an ethernet cable, with the word digital slapped on it, and there charging £20!! For a 1.5m cable.
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.209-4826.aspx
I know its QED and they do make quality cables, but still.
Just seems like brands slap the word digital on an item and charge 4 times the price.

I'd like to know the benefits of using that over one that cost 50p.
Always been the same with cables, people are stupid and ignore the fact that in most cases expensive cables make no difference, doesn't seem to have changed now everything is digital and they literally make no difference.

I need to start selling cables! buy a cheap one, add a few words like digital, super fast, etc and re-sell it to idiots.
Its like with HDMI cables - stupid people think the expensive ones are gonna be better.

It didn't even make as much of a difference as people liked to make out with analogue cables, as long as you had a half decent one it was perfect.
It's normally people with more money than sense who then go on forums to make excuses for buying it and how it's so much better than a cheap one.

You'll generally find digital cables in the houses of people who have two buckets in their garage.

I think they're having a laugh because the fact it says digital on the label means that it should be a cheap cable. It's the analogue stuff that's pricey.

generally that cable is more expensive for the gold plated connections, home use wouldn't notice much difference, but for data transfer over a network, it'd be better than a cheap cable.
much the same with HDMI, but yes ..£50 cables, who the fuck is stupid enough to pay that

i like the way they use the term digital then brag about gold plated connections, like its going to make a difference, any type of cable that sends digital signals will not benefit from gold plated anything

Gold plated terminals......but what about the cores of the wires. There still copper. The cable will only be as effective as its least effective part. If you see what i mean).
I bought a box of ethernet cables. 25 2m cables for £3. There brilliant. Use them for all sorts of "other than normal home stuff" like at work etc etc.
I find its the same with HD now too. They stick a HD lable on and everyone thinks its the best thing since sliced bread.
Might try and sell some old 3.5" floppy disks....they have a High Density "HD" on the lable

I hate it when oxygen conducts low voltage electricity.

Actually, I think a lot of HD point and shoot 720p video - which is good for a point and shoot, but saying they take HD photos is boggling. OMG A 1280X720 PHOTO!
