Just wondered what people have to live on, like your monies left after paying bills, rent, insurence etc ?
Im in two minds to get a nice car, which will mean having a bit on HP. I can afford it but will have even less per month.

House Day
My disposable is about £400 but this includes food round the misses as I'm mostly there, and not home. Probably works out as about £200 disposable.
I don't have a lot of outgoings though. I don't earn a great deal either.

If I want to ever finish my house then my disposable income is £0! In reality I try to give myself £50 a week just for me, for beer or for going out etc. Its rare I don't go over that but I'm only being strict with it so that I can get my house done. In reality, my disposable will be £800-£1000 a month after the house is finished

i don't actually know
with the mrs it's probably about £1500, myself about 1k.
but atm i have a 2.5k credit card bill to pay off so most of the disposable income is going on clearing that.

If you're asking then it's probably a bad idea from past experience. I'd rather have money in my pocket than a flash car to get me from A to B.

I agree with Brett, since the missus buggered off - I've had to be selective about what I've spent out on as I still have to remember that I have the house to finish. I could go out and blow every penny of my disposable income on me and my savings could go tomorrow but then I'd only end up in a worse position down the line.
I came literally minutes from blowing my entire savings on a Ducati 748 a few weeks back because I wanted something for me; something to cheer me up but I'd still have been going back to a half finished, barely inhabitable house and I clicked that I want my place finishing before going mental
What i'm trying to say is balance what's important to you with a realistic level of comfort - if the car is important then do it, but only you can decide that

About 1k once I have paid everything off a month, parents, phonebill, credit card (I take advantage of 0% over x months offers!)
I save some of that, £150 goes into diesel and spend the rest on me.

Money for yourself, not bills. Mine must be about £450 but I'm not on a great wage

Mine = £0 basically. Kids + bills + part-time mrs means very little disposable. If i need it, I buy it. If i want but don't need it, I earn the cash to pay for it doing overtime. Once i know the money is coming, I can buy it. Hard, but thats the price of kids and mortgage. If i lived with parents, my disposable would be over £1200 a month!!

Living at home I've been putting £750+ away per month for my house deposit.
Now I'm buying a place and expect to have £250 left over after all bills and a bit of saving.

Its just iv had a habbit recently of just "spending" If I was too buy a nice car, I would have to stop spending in other areas.
The HP is about £200 PCM which I could easy do on a wk end
