A lone soldier is in a foreign land, being hunted down by a sniper, he hitches a ride on a truck, finds civilians, tanks come in and fuck all his shit up, he then kills/swaps clothes with an enemy, his enemies put him on TV saying he's dead, then he does the signal beacon from the ejector seat to prove he's not dead to his guys, they come rescue him in a helicopter, not before he gets the memory chip or whatever.

what film is it?

Also another one;

can't remember much about the war except EXTREME gore...and the wife of (a very famous modern day actor), telling her neighbours that their husbands have died.

Same actor as forest gump.

both modern films.
