Daveys bargain of the week.

Halfords 5w50 fully synthetic 'Track day oil'.. is £33 for 5L (Works out about £24 for 5 litres on a trade card).

Its made by ESSO and has been getting good reviews!

What is track day oil about? Just low cost for oil burning cars?

They just call it track day oil..

Its 5w50 so designed to keep viscosity at very high temperatures, i.e. when you are thrashing the tits off off your motor.

Oils like 0w30 etc. are designed purely for economy due to their low viscosity the crank can cut through the oil easilly but they are crap at high temperatures.

yea im gonna be running the ATR on millers 10w/50...which is about £50/5litres from opie. Worth it though, not a fan of cheap oil...and not sure i'd be using the halfords stuff in anything thats would want an expensive rebuild...

Good buy, but you do tend to get what you pay for!

They are a big lubricants website...good prices too. The owner is 'oilman' on most forums and if you are a member on any of their listed forums or owners clubs, you get 10% off too

They have normally got random offers on too, such as free postage, 20%off or something or t'other.

atm, the members price for the 10w/50 5litre is £46.79inc.

Surprised corsasport isn't a member on there.
You can get carlube triple R FS for £25odd for 5L.

tbh, i find that the top end oils are cheaper on opie...and the lesser 'more normal' oils are same or slightly more than other places.

I've just found Millers 5w/50 for £30...so i may be gettin a couple of bottles of that tbh for the winter. Keep it thin for the cold...but might not drink so quick on the 'tec.

5w40 is only £5 more, cheap indeed, but think I will just go for Carlube triple R next time as i've used the normal Carlube shit with no problems.
