Been on the hunt for years for a Plumber apprenticeship, but there's absolutely nothing going up here.
Theres a local roofing company looking for apprentices, anyone on here one?
Can imagine it being a cold whore of a job

My dad has been a roofer for 27 years, I've helped him out loads of times. Its a decent job TBH, if you work well alone and don't suffer from vertigo
It is a cold whore of a job at times but you just wrap up warm over winter and get on. Summer is the best time to working up on a roof though as you can imagine
Give it a shot mate, theres plumbers everywhere but only a small amount of roofers, in our area anyways.

We do a hell of a lot of single ply/green roofs these days....
I'm not sure I'd be looking at getting into construction at this precise moment though

Used to do it. Was good in the summer because you was always outside, Crap in winter due to been rained off and the cold. Was only good on a cold da if you got a flat roof to do with the hot bitchumin. I used to get near the pot with the ladel, Was warm all day. The smell even got rid of your cold!
Prepared to be up and down ladders all day carrying heavy items so if you're fit and healthy that shouldn't be a problem. Saved me a fortune from going to the gym
Be prepared to work long hours as sometimes when a job is started (Say stripping a large roof off and felt and batterning it down again) you are there until it is watertight
Can be a good job to be in if you get with the right company.
