Probably the simplest route to power that won't cost the earth would be carbs. That's if its a dizzy engine.

If it's not dizzy it's easy enough to change.

Depends on what you want, carbs, TB's, forced induction. Also your budget.

£160 for autosprint reground fast road cams. (you have to send them your old cams)
£55 for tx autosport vernier pulleys.
get a descent exhaust.
then from there you could go for twin carbs.

The best bhp/£££ is carbs NOT exhausts and that, I got twin 40's for £200, fuel pump £30, regulator £30, inlet £150, on a c20xe you could get an extra 25-30bhp for £400.

40s are abit on the small side for a 20xe if wanting to put bigger cams etc in imo.
if you had the money you could build something like this...but it will set you back about £6.5k
bottom end:
Steel rods
CP flat top slipper pistons 88mm
ARP rod bolts, flywheel bolts and main studs
Early unground crank
lightened steel flywheel
Helix 4 paddle clutch
single V pulley
new oil pump with SBD Steel inner gear
ACL heavy duty bearings
full balance
Head:
Later dispac casting
match ported/polished, cut back guides into ports
3angle seats
REC wasted valves(stock size)
Colsibro guides
piper double valve springs
steel caps
Arrow solid lifters
Newman full race cams
piper round tooth verniers
SBS head stud kit with ARP nuts.
1.3mm cometic headgasket
Induction:
QED DTH throttle bodies with 45mm trumpets(drilled for nitrous injectors) with C20LET injectors
Exhaust:
Tony law exhausts manifold 4-2-1 - no system
aron - drop me a u2u of what your thinking of building, budget etc if serious about wanting aabout 190bhp.

doing this is very simple though. But a 2 1/2 inch center pipe custom made could be expensive.
You could just rebuild your engine and hope you get the original power. No doubt yours has been abuse
