Today at work I manged to get through my box of 5000 staples which I have had for pretty much two years since I started this job

So on average:

252 working days a year - 20 days of holdiay a year = 232
232 days of work in a year x 2 = 464
5000 staples / 464 working days means on average I consume 10.78 staples per day at work

Its very quiet at work today.

I waste staples in staple fights across my desk, or go in to my Secretary/PA and hammer about 20 staples out of her stapler and either leave them in a pile on her desk or write a message for her - her fault, she bought me a pink stapler and 10,000 staples; like what the fuck do I ever staple!!

there was a story the other day that said the uk office workers waste 72million tonnes of staples each year,
