I had one on my RX7 about 6 years ago, although it only worked on the front. As you got to 30mph, the plate slid up into the intercooler duct and when you slowed down, it sprung back into place

LOADS of people in the hot rod scene have things like this, pnuematic/springs that flip the numberplate down at the touch of a button.

Or, just drive a pickup truck and leave the tailgate down

this looks fucking retarded?

So you have two options, to either operate the button when you spot a camera whilst maintaining over the speed limit, or drive round with no number plate?

this deserves a camera fail;

How do you know if it failed or not, imagine pressing the button and thinking "haha bastard camera" and a few days later you are expected in court.

Oxford have only substituted their fixed cameras for mobile ones, Id rather know where the cameras are personally.
