I've gone a little mad on home security after the recent spurt of robbing bastards in the area.
I've got a CCTV DVR at my workshop and some dogs danglies Dennard cameras but its all a bit much to have kicking around in the house and the cameras are HUGE which I'm sure the neighbours would frown upon so I bought this (offered £105 and won it):

Its fantastic for the money plus it only took two and a half days to be delivered from China! It does everything my other £500 dvr does and MORE including the ability to view the streams on an iphone/windows phone or simbian.
You can pickup second hand cameras with IR illuminators for around £15-25 a piece so for less than £200 you can have a bloody good CCTV setup.

LOL! My previous setup was using and old PC and it was a noisey fecker so I did end up switching it off
This one is hidden away and records 24/7 plus it flags up movement events in a little callender so you can search through them at a later date.

That's a bargain though, that's not a standard £25 camera.

Thats not bad for £100 quid. CCTV is pretty much my worklife but only from a high end perspective.
I like the way you get a "3D mouse"

god knows what a "3D mouse is" lol
The only thing I'd like to do know is find a way of streaming the h.264 video feed from a website without having to use an activex control.

Pretty sure it cant be done, it will require some form of component to pass the video into the browser, otherwise just pull jpgs.
