It was about an 1.5 Inches long n I have never seen anything like it here before?

Thats a baby lizard mate, breed in really warm places such as car engines

I think its actually worth a few quid. Take to your local pet shop and see what they offer you.

water scorpion (Nepa cinerea) is a possible option

The thing at the back is a snorkel,
