Saying my phone has been repaired and is now ready to be picked up although my phone isnt in for repair worth a try ?

whats the excuse if they say well you know you didnt send off your phone for repair ?

yesh, i'd make something up like that, ring them and quote whatever the email say.

even say you have a few phones and get confused sometimes with work ones etc

yes, honestly acting a bit mental when things go tits up is the best plan, people probably won't see you again or you could just aviod the place in the future.

i avoid some shops because i've been an idiot in there

Maybe think about the customer who's been waiting for 2weeks to get their phone back from repair?! Think about it if it was the other way round, you would be on here being all self righteous and demanding x,y,z compensation from said company.
