The early 20xe, its out the astra gte, thats what the `c` stands for (cat).

I've got a 90 spec engine, I'm not sure if it uses a cat. iirc it's 89-92 for the early dis-pack and 92-95 for late coil pack setup? So if that's correct, is the engine that doesn't use a cat the 89-92 early setup?

im sure yours has a lamda sensor so would have came with a cat, the engine marty has in his vans from a 1990 cavalier gsi and its a 20xe with no lamda sensor and mines is out a 1991 and has a lamda sensor and the trck nova had the engine from a 1993 gsi which was a dizzy model

i had an f reg gte 16v and a g reg and neither had cat or lambda

My 20xej came out a mk2 astra not sure on the reg but it doesn't run a lamba and the ECU code is FP if that helps?

aye mate obviously mine's got a lambda but as you're saying there Marty's that's a 90 engine doesn't have one and mine's a 90 engine as well. I was just wondering whether it's definetely needed or not.

if you remove it it wont run right martys is out a 1990 but its an 20xe so doesnt need it, and yours is c20xe which means it needs it
