I just saw a shitty old Austin Maestro drop someone off to one of our neighbours. Thing is, this car has a W plate on it (W956 SUY to be exact).

I can't find anything about this on the DVLA tax disc website, however the AskMID website says:

quote:
Vehicle Make/Model: AUSTIN MAESTRO 1.3 (85-88) CITY X

I thought a "W" reg was 2000, and that you couldn't use newer plates on older cars?

I saw an 02 plate Corsa B SXi on the M4 near the Slough turn off, I imagine it was illegal immigrant rather than a late registered Corsa B.

Austin / rover maestro came as a self build bodyshell which was built in ledbury

there is a t reg knocking around by me, i had an mg maestro on a G plate

i think some people would say the same about corsa`s if some one had seen one on a diffrent reg mark.

My dad's old 740i was a 96 model, had history that confirmed it was 96 but if he'd have took the private plate off that was on when he bought it, it would've been on a X plate, V5 showed it registered in 2001 but MOT's dated back to 99, that was a weird one

The Maestros were bought over from Belgium in Kits and a company built the cars up. A chap at my dads work brought one. The original Maestro stopped production over here in 1995 but these Belgium ones were on R,S,T,W Regs

P.S Sam you must be very close to me because i see that Maestro driving about all the time lol
