I recently sold my corsa with my private registration plate still on it (K300SDB)
The guy who I sold it to agreed verbally at the time of sale that he would fully co-operate with the transfer of the plate back to me.
He has now removed this agreement of co-operation.
On the registation plate transfer form it says I need the VIN and tax disc code from the corsa and most importantly his signature.
Is there any way I can get my plate back?

If it was a term of the sale just threaten him with small claims court, get a solicitor to write up a letter. Im sure he will co-operate after that

I would never do that, i gave them my car but not the v5 untill i transfered the plate. You havnt got a leg to stand on as it states somewhere on DVLA that if the newdriver receives the V5 in his name with the plate still on it then he can legally keep it
Id phone DVLA if i were you asap.

You know where he lives from the details he filled in on the v5 I assume?
Go pay him a visit

IMO, if you knew you wanted to keep the plate and then put the car up for sale, you should have got it transferred and on retention before letting it go with the car...

Should have put it on retention before selling tbh.
I don't think you've got much hope in getting it back.

This happened before on here, the old owner ended up buying a new plate. Is the new owner a member on here?

Seeing as I saw his new plate on his old civic the other day, I'd say he's done it again

So you made a verbal agreement with some bloke you had met once in your life? Foolish tbh.

Sarcasm or not, that's theft obviously, and the plate wasn't stolen.
