My old man bought a Porsche 944 about 9 years ago now, immaculate, every imaginable piece of history, porsche world magazine clippings.
He parked it up for the winter in 2003, sorn'd it, then moved out about 18 months ago and its doing my head in sitting there.
Reckon it could be roadworthy again, any experience in old porsches.
It's an 82/83 non turbo, also has a '944' private plate valued at £1500
Pics.

i wouldn't just try and start it without checking everything and knowing what your looking at, could lead to damage.
any car of that age i would check out all the brakes, coolant system and electrical stuff. These seem to be the main important things that detoriate with age

Change the oil, and most likly a good idea to do the water too. Pull the plugs, clean them up, while there out turn it over and watch the oil light go out, plugs back in and see if it fires up.

Ask him to come collect it?
If he doesn't want just ship it on and pocket the cash. I wouldn't waste time and money getting it going again.

The pre '86 shape and non-turbo means its not the most desirable.
Could be a fun track car though if you can get it running for cheap

I have a 1986 928 which stood for 6 years and the electrics might be erratic, tends to be a dirty connector or fuse.
