How do you tighten the handbrake on a corsa b, and can it be done at the side of the road,

Not a road side job I'm afraid mate.
I think it involves getting inside the rear brake hub and also messing about with the hand brake adjuster, which is on the rear beam.
Sounds like I've just answered the question doesn't it? lol.

yeah lol, think i might just take it too garage, need trackin handbrake and brakes bleeding

i did mine the other week, didnt have to get in the hub just messed with the thing on the rear beam, had to hold one bit with mole grips and turn the other bit with mole grips too as it was so rusty, feels a lot nicer now though

ye as said above, dont need to go into drums just adjust it on the beam, if you have no adjustment on that you need a new handbrake cable anyway, it can be done at the side of the road

its easy if you do it properly.
jack up car, wind the handbrake cable so its slack. and take one drum off and adjust the self adjuster, it is supposed to do itself. they dont.
so
adjust the adjuster till it requires minimal pedel pressure to press on the drum
you will be putting the drum on and off a few times.
repeat on the other side
then put the handbrake on 3 clicks
then wind the cable in till the drums wont move
take the handbrake off check they spin free and your sorted.
easy to do.
just takes a little ltime

i didnt do it that way, i just tightened the bit on the rear beam with the handbrake off, then put handbrake on and see if it felt tighter
thats how it tell you to do it in the haynes manual
