when it rains, i've noticed when i turn it sometimes makes a squeaking noise. this never happens in the dry.
it sounds like when my dad's old ford escort used to start up, the fan belt used to make a screeching noise.
anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? cheers.

it could be the aux belt just getting damp when it rains

Wierd how it only does it when turning, is it electric power steering? My aux belt used to squeak when using electrics such as heater, lights.

Aux belt, when you're turning the power steering pump will need that bit more effort to turn it, add the wet weather and it probably manages to slip causing the squeak. Probably just needs tightening up a bit

Just give the belt a tighten and should stop it slipping, worst case is a new belt if its as tight as itl go or stretched. My corsa howled like mad in the wet

My redtop squeels like a bitch when if I do lock to lock without the car moving ok all the rest of the time so I just presume it the extra force needed by the belt.
