Been a LONG LONG time since i posted, or even came to a meet. But i thought i would show you my new car
About my new Astra Its a 59reg 1.8 SRi XP, 5 door obviously looks much better! I got the car just over a month ago with 18,000 on the clock. The exterior is immaculate, not a scratch or dent in sight, with no wheel curbing. The interior is almost perfect apart from a small fag burn on the rear bench. I havent got a clue what optional extra's its got, but i dont think its many, if any. All i can see is the CD30 MP3 player with the AUX socket.
Here are some pics of the Astra so far:
Those were all taken in the first week of owning it. With it being a newer car, and already looking good, i had no intention of changing anything, but it wasnt long before my modifying fingers started to twitch!
Carbon bonnet, done by Bettley (Stealth 19CDTI thread) on here.
Carbon door protectors.
Carbon boot strip.
Latest pics guys, now lowered 60-40mm on Astra G Spax.
Comments welcome And apologies for photo quality! Shoddy iPhones HA!

Prefered it standard if I'm honest, not keen on the carbon wrap.

Carbon wrap is very chavy and does nothing for me. Doesn't even suit the car.

cant help thinking it would look nicer if the grill was still standard, as the lower grill is still chrme and the top is now black, looks abit odd imo. Black wheels next?

Im trying to phase out the chrome, i really don't like it. That lower bit will be going black soon. But its having a VXR Front bumper and snowflakes after christmas. Im unsure whether to have the snowflakes coloured or not.

I'm a much bigger fan of the 5 doors rather than the 3 doors, but I've got to agree with the comments about the bonnet. Apart from the fact that the wrap is wrong on so many levels, even if it was real carbon it'd still look out of place. It's not in keeping with the overall theme of the car. Maybe if you did the rubstrips the same colour as the boot strip it'd go better.
Even with that, if you got darker wheels it'd immediately improve it. Sorry for being so scathing, but as long as you like it that's fine obviously

Like the fact it's a 5-door XP, much better than the Sporthatches IMO.
But, don't like the Carbon Wrap - I don't think it works on large panels atall personally.

tbh I like everything that's going on. Glad you've chosen the 5 door too, something different for once. Don't colour the vxr snowflakes when you get them.

BluKoo- Yes i do work there, at the Tesco Phone shop.
5door- And no i cant bring myself to colouring the wheels either! so i think they'll stay silver.
John- i can't insure a 1.9CDTI otherwise id of got one. And as for the money, the wrap was free
I wanted to to something different with it. Not to everyones taste, thats granted. Once the VXR goodies come, i might have a change of heart about the carbon. But for now it makes the car stand out.

I kind of like the carbon wrap, But it would look 100x better if you had just had the whole chrome bits colour coded or maybe done anthrecite.
imo take the wrap off the bonnet but leave the door bits and boot bit.

1.9CDTI is a group 21 now.
1.8SRi VVT is a group 18.
My insurance is £1017 a year, they wanted the best part of £2400 for a DERV!!
