Figured i didnt want my coilovers/rear shocks getting caked up this winter, so made them some socks
Dont quite know if they will work how im imagining it, so its a bit of a test, but ill have to see.
Used a wet suit because i couldnt think of anything that was flexible and strong, plus neoprene is expensive and i could get a wet suit for free from the sailing club Not sure on whether it will retain water and cause issues or be fine - either way itll keep the dirt off
I can only drive it and see.

Comments welcome, dont expect a flaming though. (pics taken on BB so wont be too great)

Not a bad idea tbf, not sure how long they'd last though? Might be an idea to cable tie them to the shock?

Good lad, I've fancied doing this to my coilovers. Threads will no doubt get minced during the winter so it's a good idea

Fronts have velcro to hold the top near the top mount area, velcro all down the side and then vecro at the bottom with a cable tie to stop them riding up past the threads.

Rears have velcro all down the side and a bit round the bottom to stop them riding up past the adjuster. The tops are left loose-ish so the plastic sheath can move up and down still.

Yeah, not sure about this, yet.
Was talking to a lad at work about it and he said about a wet suit and dry suit but said dry suits are expensive...

I'd be surprised if they stay in place without being quickly ripped up.

Good point.

I'd have thought they'd get caught between the coils each time the spring compressed also.

Well, its quite tight over the surface of the spring when dropped down. It might get compressed between, but cant see it causing any mega issue

Ive slipped the velcro'd areas to the face not near the wheel so shouldnt catch unless they shift.
