Just had my car on the dyno at college and it made 142.6bhp and 136.8lbf.ft Its just a standard engine with a blowing exhaust.. Is that power good?

Great for a engine that hasnt been apart and fitted with all new bits imo.

So its lost about 14bhp over the years.
What exhaust system is on it??
I wouldnt be happy either,i would be wanting factory figs.lol.
Wish the XE's were like the V6's and gained more power after some miles on them.

Sportex... Find me a valver that makes standard power after 24 years..... after a few years a c20xe would be very lucky to be 150bhp

I think youve taken that the wrong way.I dont mean it in a bad way,i mean it in a fussy me way.I would always be trying to chase factory figs.

dyno on Saturday.
My old XE ran 169.2 @ the fly and 138 @ the wheels.
On probably one of the most accurate dyno days i have been to.

How do you define standard?
Most XEs are running an exhaut and induction thats all mine runs.

Not sure is the college dyno is 100% correct it's not often used and when it is its mostly for training

As long as its around 150 it proves its healthy I guess. I was well chuffed with mine. 169.7 bhp and 158.8 lbft torque. Thats with ecotech top hat, 1.6 air box and exhaust. How accurate it is I don't know
