Anyone heard/seen this?
IMDB rating of 6.7 which is quite high, although the IMDB rating cant always be trusted with new films due to low numbers of opinions.

Looks very similar to war of the worlds, cloverfield type... going to watch it now anyway.

Trailer 1
Trailer 2

Is this anything to do with District 9?

No its not anything to do with District 9.

One of the security guards at my work has seen this and did not rate it. He is a bit of a film buff and usually spot on with his ratings but said in Monsters you are constantly waiting for something to happen/kick off and it never does.

I suspect for this reason it may be a major CS hater film

I am still tempted. Skyline first though

just finished watching it.....
Your friend was pretty much spot on.

Its completly different from Cloverfield, war of the worlds, district 9 etc as this film revolves more around the couple's journey to get from one place (infect land) to another (America - safe area).

Theres very few scenes with aliens but they're always close by.

Also, towards the end you get a different perspective of the 'monsters', they're not as destructive as portrayed, they're merely trying to get by.

Im glad I watched it and probably wouldnt mind if I had to sit through it again some time in the future.

Its really a slower, softer, slightly more romantic version of war of the worlds, with less destructive scenes.

6.7/10 is spot on imo.
It'll be staying in my downloaded Video collection
