Just got released from Jury service - started last week on the 25th

Well it was the most drawn out process in the world.

No wonder Judges etc earn so much coin - they just drag everything out

Hopefully it will be a good amount of time before summoned again as its very boring in parts

I like going to court. But no way I would want to do jury service!

It's bad enough going to court for one or two days to give evidence. Would hate to sit and hear evidence for a big case.

The last one I gave evidence in I sat in for 15 mins before walking out due to boredom They were going through a company's VAT records for 10 years I think. That must be torture on the jury!

If you have a caution on your record, does it mean you are exempt from doing this?

Same here As part of my law course we got to go to the courts twice to watch some trials. It was fascinating I thought! We got to see one where a woman claimed insanity after having her boyfriend beat up until he couldn't move outside the school he worked at so that she could set him on fire Another one was a rape case of a step dad and teenage boy which was fucked up to be honest. Didn't seem real seeing that, almost felt like it should have been off the tv or something

Had mine at the old Bailey, got extended to three weeks as it was a manslaughter/murder at a sunday league footy game.

Its terribly difficult being in a jury with so many different opinions. Also some people summoned for Jury service just sit in a waiting room for two weeks watching Homes under the Hammer.

I did my jury service about 3 years ago. At first it was quite interesting but then the guy on trial kept saying he was ill, so spent 4 days waiting for him in the courts just incase he felt better!

He was some peado from Stevenage who fiddled with a 10 year old girl! He got sent down for 6 years if i remember correctly!

One thing that did piss me off however, everyone on the jury had decided he was guilty, the bloke came in, asked if we had a decision, then some bint decided to change her mind. 3 days we waited for her to um and arr over the decision, which at the last minute on the third day she decided he was guilty (before it went to majority decision). She wasnt even remotely hot which annoyed me further! Plus i ended up sitting next to a heavily pregnant lady who needed to piss every 45 minutes!
