Ahoy. Firstly yes I'm on Scoobynet and have been asking questions but thought I'd ask if anyone has experiences on here too hoping to go and look at this next week. The stickers have been removed!
PPP sounds immense, if you've owned one or been in one please share the wealth of your knowledge despite the highish mileage the car has just one owner and he's the chairman of Subaru Impreza Drivers Club! So I've been told it's been well looked after from various people. Car in question....

Looks superb. Mileage would worry me though but I guess that's why it's the price it is.
Looks like it's towing a trailer. If it's doing that regularly that would also worry me.

Blobeyes are the best of the new age Imprezas if you ask me. Couldn't really comment on it as the advert is so poor with regards to details.
Probably a solid motor but ditch the morette headlights IMO.

i had a sti ppp and it was an awesome car. drove brilliant, sounded awesome.
the only negative i could fathom, is that the car eventually ended up not being rewarding to drive, as it handled that well, it was a bit boring, if you got the back end to swing out, it corrected itself, which sort of spoiled it.
heavy on fuel when enjoying spirited driving, but can sit at 30 in 6th all day long.

Agree with the above, I've got a classic and it can almost be boring they handle that well. Very good in the snow though.

My old neighbour had a UK300 PPP, was a great car. Very planted feeling, good noise and actually "felt" fast unlike some performance cars I've been in.

I had an 05 style blobeye which has the slightly wider arches and dccd diff. Was the most fun car I've owned. 400 bhp and never missed a beat.

Took it for a test drive, got my mechanic to look over it, phoned the place it had been serviced to confirm never had any major problems... the guy's a complete geek he has every single receipt ever for the separately laminated in a big folder lol. Including a guide on how to clean the car properly
It's mint and, it's mine pick it up next week.

IMHO its priced about right despite the Mileage when you consider the length of time he has owned it and the care and maintenance that has gone into the car. A pretty solid purchase I think and White Blob eyes are relatively rare as well.
Teins and PFF7`s is a good start as well.
Having had 3 imprezas including a blobeye STi I disagree that they are a great handling car, they have almost unlimited grip... there is a difference.
Some decent droplinks (Whiteline or Perrin) and a 24/25mm rear ARB with good alignment make a significant difference though. An STi with a stiff rear ARB is much more entertaining to drive and exhibits some RWD type characteristics as well IMHO (Dont forget the drive split on an STi is rear biased).
I whacked my 24mm Whiteline ARB onto the stiffest setting and the arse was all over the place. Very entertaning but i chickend out and put it on the softest setting which gave more neutral handling.
If it already has PPP then you just need a good cat back exhaust, panel filter and an ECU-TEK remap and youll see circa 330 bhp.

Only six white STIs out there iirc
Do love the wheels but I want them back in their anthracite/bronze colour, not sure on the black.
It has the Prodrive exhaust, and it's been mapped. He says it should be on 320bhp or there abouts but hasn't had it RR'd so just said the stock figure of 305bhp. I shall have to get it RR'd at some point

With PPP you get uprated fuel pump, Prodrive sports cat and back box and Prodrive map.
Sounds like he has mapped it with the above hardware so I would leave as. Next step would be Turbo, headers, 3" decat exhaust for 360-380 with a 20G. You`ll need a 321H or similar and 650 injectors to break 400 but all of this can be done for not a hell of a lot of outlay.
You need 400bhp in a scoob these days due to all these fecking annoying little 300bhp hot hatches out there.

Dad had a 53 Plate Blobeye STi with PPP, was awesome. Quickest car ive driven, pulls like a train in every gear, over-taking power was incredible.
Only downside was expensive servicing especially with the brembos, also his clutch went at around 35k, but it took some abuse to be fair and wasnt massively expensive to replace at a specialist garage.
IIRC is was cack on fuel but you seriously cant expect much from a car of this caliber, id have one tomorrow if i could afford to run it!
Will see if i can dig out a few pics of his.

Thanks for the information. At the moment though I'm driving a 55bhp Corsa as my own cars are off the road I think a 265bhp jump is enough for the time being
