WTF is this? all my details are on it, looks just like a log book inside, with a new keeper part, sale to a dealer, sale to a dimantler ect ect

and it says registered keeper is me inside

why the fuck is it red

i got told they have changed them because loads of the green ones got robbed so DVLA changed the colour to stop them being sold

I have this as well, why the fuck does it say "this is not proof of ownership"???

How do you prove that your the owner then if you get stopped by the poilce for example???

It says V5C at the top

But the V5 has never been proof of ownership. Its a bit twisted.

I have often wondered this, particularly as legally my Nova is still in my Dad's name but I am the keeper certainly. I am the only driver, it is insured in my name and is kept in a council garage i pay for...i am the keeper, but the documented system doesn't offer this.

Insurance has been a pain about this, "are you the registered owner and keeper" i am one of those but there is never an option!

Insurance is the gay one, They see the owner as the person who is on the V5 which is silly.

Its just more of the shit system.

They only came in a few months ago, I got one back for my 350 after taking the plate off which was green then 3 days later I got a red new style one for the golf.

They have been V5C`s for years, The red one came in circulation on the 15th of August 2010.

The V5C is only proof of the registered keeper and not the proof of ownership.

No someone owns it but the V5C only tells them and other people the registered keeper. The owner may be the registered keeper though.
