Anyone got one under the age of 25, struggling to find a company to quote me.

Will do the odd buying/selling of cars, but its mainly so i can drive other cars, i.e doing a service on a car, need to go pick the car up etc. Only need road risk. Limit of £10k would be fine.

22, held lisence 4 and a half year, 1yncb (private car) 3 points for SP30

Any ideas?

im 22 and when i looked into it they would only cover me up to a 1.6 for personal use until i was 23

My bro has a traders policy and he is only 18. Not cheap though. Think it is through Gladiator Insurance - you would have to google it to find out their t&c's.

I am currently looking into it, 23 with 5 years ncb and got prices of around £950.

But cant have things like BMW`s over 2.0, gti`s, scoobys, evos etc

Guy i know uses a company called Tradesure Commercials. He's 40 odd tho.

I inquired about a traders policy a while back but it excluded sports cars.
Basicly anything with SRi, GTi etc on it.

Ghey reallly as i wouldnt be covered on a 1.4 SRi corsa but could drive a 325 170bhp bmw just cos it was an SE, not a Sport etc.

Check these thing when you speak to them!

Probly wont get what i want really.

Mate of mine had one when he was my age, same sort of thing, could drive a old battered Golf GTi but could have drove a brand new car with twice the power, just cause of the badge. Silly really.

How do you go about stuff at the moment Warren, take it your customers bring their cars to you?

Coversure Swindon is who I've got all my other policies with.

Due to the nature of the cars I work on I can't get a suitable trade policy.

I was getting quotes of £5kish to cover me on any car up the value of £15k. Thats 22 with 4 years NCB (last years quote) I try every year

i was on one from 17 to 22 where i could drive any as long as i wasnt the registered owner, i could drive maybe upto 2ltr on as my own cars but not performance. i then got my own and have had my own since. Got 7 years traders no claims and its still £2000 but i now have maybe £30ks worth of motors and am covered upto 18ton , also managed to get plant thrown in too.

plus normal no claims wont be taken into account when getting a proper trade policy

i paid around £1200 when i was 22 with crowthorne insurance, covered up to £30k on own cars

problem is they wont let you drive modified cars at my age, thats the biggest issue
