why a rear wheel drive 1.6i bmw e30
is £2000 a year insurance

and a 1.4 tigra is £2700

what the hell is going on in this world!

tigra is probably faster, more 'boy racer' and newer.

actual performance wont really come into that much. Tigra is a 'sports' car so more likely to be stolen.

old cars have no protection when you crash, and also no security whatsoever. My mk3 XR3i was the dearest car i've had to insure

i got some silly quotes recently, 2007 astra cdti sri 150 was £907 to insure but a 1999 1.6 16v corsa sport was £1700, i hav no idea how they work it out

Cheapest I can get in my own name on a 1.0 Corsa is over 4K!

Jamie a 1.0 corsa isnt the cheapest car to insure though. Old minis, shit spec 106's etc are.

I tried all the obvious ones and the Corsa was the cheapest. It'll be going in my dads name. 4K is just madness!

350z - 800 to insure,
corsa vxr - 1100 to insure for me anyway

When i was 17 i was insuring a Nova 1.2 for £1,400 i could have insured a Mondeo ST200 for £850 at the time

It's a lottery, based on many things. I would guess Tigras have more claims as a basic rule.

ive got a mondeo v6 2002 and my insurance wont insure me on a 2008 vectra 1.8 cos its newer!!

It's all very daft. I paid less on a 98 Corsa because it was "more secure" than a 95. Even though they were quite clearly the same spec, same part numbers on the mechanisms.
