Just went to Asda to get some Ice cream and was browsing the DVD section and came across this

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0898367/

How did I not hear about this? This is what haunts my dreams.

Looked very boring. A father and a son trying to make it somewhere whilst trying to avoid cannibals is it? Looked boring.

It's a better version of the book of Eli.
Not a bad film at all

"One of the most chillingly effective visions of the world’s end ever put on screen — and a heart-rending study of parenthood, to boot."

I used to dream of post apocalyptic landscape, but this film and Threads has put me right off the idea.

Very sad, but also very real.

Crap ending TBH, gets an arrow in his leg and dies not long after...and some strange couple with kids has been following him and the kid, then kid goes with them...seemed odd.

Yeah ending wasn't that great, I was thinking that this morning. He was lucky they came along at that moment in time.

I didn't like the idea of how the world was dying though, I would prefer a nuclear war.

Truely sad, made worse by Rachel saying "he cries like Solly (my nephew)" and then I imagine him having to go through that

Awful, we truely are living in heaven.

They don't say what telhe event was though in the book they describe low thuds in the distance and then the power/water going so I would assume some large destructive force like Nuclear based to subsequently incur the said nuclear winter they are living in. It was obvious he was gunna pop it from page2.

He mentions that the trees were dying and that all the trees would soon be dead.

Also that all the animals died, then Robert Duvall said "people said it was a con, but I knew it was coming" i.e. climate change
