Im spraying my mates bumper inserts and bump strips from his clio, I've got cellulose thinners,plastic primer etc everything needed, just wondering do I apply the cellulose thinners to bring the crap up then sand it, OR sand it down then apply cellulose thinners (leave to dry) then prime? Thanks

I'm sure the painters at my old work used to use exactly that before prepping stuff. It won't leave any residue anyway, we used to use them to clean parts for inspection.

It's will aswell but it can fuck up the plastic. It can soften the plastic and sit in it with out it drying properly and then your in a whole load of shit!

if the black trims have ever been auto glymed or back 2 black. i would first wash with a pure TFR twice. then with anti silicone panel wipe. NOT thinners. adhesion promoter/primer. then base then laquer.

any time i give bumpers to my dad to spray me at work he always sprays them with thinners 1st to make sure all the crap is off them, the final finish is always 100% and he has been spraying for 17 years

degrease before, rub them down, give them a wipe after to make sure theres no excess crap from sanding prime then paint them
