basically im in love with ford racing pumas, and for as long as i can remember ive wanted one.

Ive got a ph1 clio 172 and again, ive wanted one for a long time and have had it for nearly a year now.
Love everything about it, handling, power and looks.
but i think the Racing Puma has got better looks with those massive arches and the suade bucket seats, and obviously the rarity of it.

Ive spent alot of money on the clio upgrading it all and spending servicing.

The both cars even themselves out with the clio being a more powerful car,
and the Racing Puma being the nicer looking.

The reason im thinking of buying a Racing Puma is, the price they are now, i can afford to buy one.

ive done alot to the clio in terms of performance, brakes, handling etc. And it does everything awsome.
Goes really well, stops amazing and handles like its on rails. And it looks really nice.
There are no clio ph1 172 around by me either.

The puma is slower....but....those arches, ap brakes, lsd, bucket seats and the colour
i dont want to rush into anything and regret it. Just really like the FRP atm

Go for the Puma if you can afford it.

The Clio will be losing money every day.The Puma will hold its value better.

Puma looks alot better to imo.

i can guarantee that the puma will be more then a match for a 172 in nearly all circumstances apart from on paper 0-60.

Id have one in a flash over a 172

the only thing to watch is running costs, service parts for them is expesive

i know the puma isnt slow, what im getting at is.
My clio isn't standard power. And if i had a racing puma it would stay 100% standard. So staight line peformance the pums is slower than mine.

But are they selling for 4k.Probably not.

Quick look on PH and they seem to be priced under 2k with few over 3k.

Dont get me wrong, they are the nicest looking imo and i would have 1 in a flash, but like most folk, for 3k you would go for a minter of a 2002 P2 172.

depends what you are looking for in a clio sport then. You'd be buying a bog standard ph2 with things needing doing.

The ph1 for 3k for example would be really clean,
belts would have been done, better brakes. Suspension. Ect.

I know what you mean about the value of them, they do vary alot.

And it depends what you want out of the clio. The ph1 is more of a drivers car with no tcs ect
and the ph2 is more refined with tcs, esp, climate control and sooo on.
