CAR- B5 Passat 1.8 20vT
Yesterday We were on the motorway, travelling at 65mph.
Mrs' went Yo overtake a lorry dropped into 4th powered down and the car felt as though it was pulling a trailer as it lagged loads( it juddered almost like it wasn't getting enough air or fuel, I have no idea what it is but what are the possibilities?
I first thought oh f**k turbo's gone.
I have checked all levels - the only level which is slightly low, is the coolant. ( car was not getting hot)
It has just gone through it's MOT and the only thing that was advised was that there is a slight leak in the exhaust flexi?
I have no idea what it could be, What would you say it could be?
Any answers as I know there are some Vag nuts here

I use a free copy and a cable from ebay. But it's very flaky and I had to write a BAT file to keep it running.
My friend bought the full version for £99 direct from Ross Tech.
One thing you can do is put up a post on the Seatcupra forum asking if anyone local has it.

It could be a number of things.
My car did this with dodgy coils and also with a damaged EGT sensor.
But you're right, it could be a boost leak too

It will be your coil or flexipipe.
My flexi has currently gone now and it happens to me.. it pulls then feels like there is no turbo pull at all....
Coil pack the car will judder like a bitch and not really boost at all.

for the record, turbo pipe comes off, you usually get loads of smoke

There's no smoke at all.
I've checked over the engine bay, and to my mechanically untrained eye. I can't see anything hanging off or out of place.
I shall put a shout on Facebook and see what I come up with.
EDIT - my best analogy - it feels like a 1.8 hitting limiter, and that's what it looks like on the dash too... Seems to be limiting at 5000'ish rpm rather than 6500rpm

wiggle the actuator, they have a tendency to get stuck.

your analogy sounds like failing ignition coils.
Vagcom should shed some light

Doesn't sound like a pipe off or coils to me, and I mess with my 1.8t all the time. If a pipe was off it wouldn't even be driveable for starters. Possibly a split in a pipe though. I'm putting money on a sensor anyway. MAP sensor, MAF, O2 sensors, temp sensors, can all cause juddery running as I've experienced. The DV could also be failing. Vag-com will tell you instantly anyway so there's hardly any point the internet guessing you problem.
