What do you mean what is going on? Scrapping the ship aren't they? Sharing the French navy.. What's somewhat worrying is typing French naval victories into google

Captain Jerry Kyd, who only took command of Ark Royal in September, took the 22,000-tonne vessel to Scotland to have its major weaponry removed.

He said: "It was a sad time because, for a ship like this, it is like taking the teeth from a tiger."

There was a tear in his eye when the last Harrier took off, he admitted.

"It was an emotional moment and also one of real pride as we look back over 25 years service to Queen and country.

We would have to hold The Falklands at all costs.

If we lost it we would not have the ability to recapture them this time.

When they say scraping it, are they literally scraping it, dismantled etc...? Or are they just flogging it to someone else? Was wondering this a few weeks ago

Another thing that concerns me about sharing Naval power with France is if the Spics try to invade whilst the French Carrier is deployed.

What happens then? Dont forget those French Cunts were selling Exocet Missiles to the Spics during the Conflict.

I hope they rename the Prince Charles Carrier to the Ark Royal. The Ark Royal name goes back to the days of defeating the Spanish Armada.

No fast jets from an aircraft carrier for 10 years.

It impacts our expeditionary forces rather then the ability to defend the UK.

What did I read the other day about the aircraft that are stored in museums etc that are still listed as being avaliable in case of a war? Anyone else read that?

Obviously not Sopwith Camels but jets that we still have spare parts to that can be made ready for combat? Fucking desperation.

"oh noes here come the Argies lets send in the De Havilland Mosquito as it has a low radar signature due to wooden construction, that will confuse them"

The modern day threat is besandled arabs with sticks of home made dynamite, I don't think the Ark Royal is capable of stopping them.

We have Falklands to protect. If the Argies invaded tomorrow we would be sending out what exactly? Would HMS Victory be rolled out of dry dock? Or maybe HMS Warrior seeing as it's an Iron Clad, corr that would scare the shit out of the Argies seeing that coming.

Think if that happened, there would be months of consultations, that tosser David Cameron asking why is it taking so long, Health and safety putting bungs into the end of the guns saying it could hurt some one and then all the eco mentalists worrying about the sea plancton that would be destroyed by the ship going through the water!

Mean while the argies have entered through the back door and are now sat in the houses of parliment!

Don't think there is anything "Great" about Great Britian anymore!

What would Argentina gain by going to war with Britain over the Falklands again?

If anything they will attempt to re-take the islands by democratic means.

The US has already made it clear that all they will do is mediate. they wont intervene as South America hates them enough already.

By going to war though not just assuming them through the courts. They would ostracise themselves from the entire world.
