I know there are some pretty hardcore F1 fans on here so you may have already heard the news that Renault has revised its F1 strategy by selling the stake it had in its F1 team back to co-owners Genii Capital and will now focus on being just an engine supplier. That move has allowed Genii to sell a stake to Group Lotus - which has led to a renaming of the outfit and a move for the team's colours to be in iconic black and gold next year.
SO We now will have Renault racing under the name of "Team Lotus-Renault GP" and Lotus continuing to race under "Team Lotus-Renault" - Confusing? Yes
Both teams also plan on using the 1980's inspired black and gold JPS liveries that were used when Lotus last partnered Renault in F1. Renault have released this artist impression of the 2011 livery on their 2010 car after Lotus announced at the 2010 season's closing race that they would also be sporting a black and gold livery.
Renaults new livery
Lotus new livery style (not confirmed)

The bright red Total signs on the Wings will make it pretty straight foward to tell them apart I think.

I bet Fernandez's team will have the name taken off them.
Group Lotus are the license holders for the name so it'll be down to a court battle whether both or only one team can use it.

They look amazing
I hope Team Lotus-Renault can do better next year, although they have already confirmed they won't have KERS at the start of the year.
And they won't be hard to identify on track, one has bright red on the wings, the other doesn't.
Hamilton FTW!

The old school JPS Lotus cars are my favourite F1 cars of all time! Fittipaldi in particular. My Dad actually painted one of those cars and my Uncle did Fittipaldis crash helmet

I bet there is going to be a lot of contraversy around the livery design. Fernandez has already accused Renault of "Hijacking" their livery ideas.

Na they will, they have already Entered under the name "Team Lotus". If a team wishes to change its name after the season entry list has been published then they must get approval from every other team on the grid

Group Lotus and Team Lotus are entirely separate companies which were both owned by the Chapman's until 1990 when Collins and Wright bought Team Lotus. David Hunt then bought Team Lotus when it when into administration in 1994. The only link between the two is Colin's setting up the road side to fund Team Lotus (racing).
To be honest its Proton/Bahr throwing a hissy with Fernandes wanting to use the name Team Lotus instead of Lotus Racing and them thinking they had sole rights of the Lotus name. Worse is that they've been saying Lotus Racing/Team Lotus isn't Lotus, well yeah but then again Renault F1 isn't technically Renault F1, as they shut shop in 1985. Renault is Benetton, who were Toleman.
This is all a mess anyways and all it's doing is dragging the Lotus name down.
However, the rumour from F1 Commission meeting a few days ago is that Fernandes has been asked to change the name of the team. Although nothing has been said by Lotus/Fernandes apart from a recent Twitter comment stating that Lotus Racing won't be racing in the Black and Gold livery.
p.s - shouldn't this be in Sports Day?
Edit - On another note, this livery looks ace - http://www.ausmotive.com/F1/2010/Lotus-Racing-T128EF-livery-01.jpg
