Its all about the police listening to local community issues whatever they might be and putting them into practice (or LIP'S as they are known- Locally identified priorities)

In some locations speeding is a real high issue, hence the above.

Is it not a load of do gooders who want to be police writing down numberplates of cars who they dont like the look of/appear to be speeding?

Round this way always seems to be a load of depressed old duffers who want to make everyone else miserable but im sure its useful in some places outside schools etc

Yep - but if people don't go to the meetings the old duffers get to set the agenda, so can hardly moan!

we have a community speed watch where locals are trained to use the speed guns, and they sit outside reporting people to the police.

i think after a few reports you get a letter, then a few more you get a visit from the police.

Of course none of it can be used as evidence in a court of law though.

they obviously have nothing to live for in life and want to do something to piss other people off.

i wouldn't be suprised if some vigilante goes crazy and stabs a few old codgers up that do this.
