Swapping my car on Saturday evening around 5PM.

My insurance closes at 1 on Saturday, but can set up a policy change to kick in at 5.
I feel this a bit risky incase the deal falls through from either party or traffic issues given the horrendous weather.

Any suggestions as to what i can do, one of my mates has a trade policy but isnt free to drive mine up.

I cant afford to day insure the corsa if i change my existing insurance to the other car, and it'd be a serious trek for the other lad to come to me.

You can usually get an overlap period I think, where you're insured on both cars, probably best speaking to your insurer about it, see what they can do

I cant afford 2 trips Colin, the lad with the other cars in Aberdeen and is only free on Saturdays.

Mike spoke to my insurance and they said there is no overlap period, Bell used to give an overlap period.

And theres no emergency number.

5pm is going to be a crap time to view a car anyway. It will be dark. Rearrange for another weekend at a time when its daylight & your ins answer the phone.

Almost had the same problem when swapping the 350 for the bimmer but was lucky that admiral have good opening times.

Make sure you meet somewhere with lots of light etc so you can check for variations in body panels etc

Dont you work for a garage?

I know its a long shot but if the garages has trade insurance, ask your boss if he would very kindly give you permission to drive the car home on work's insurance policy? My old boss used to be such a lad for letting me do this when bringing forigners to work

Dont think it would make a difference if it was light or dark if that was the case.
